"dear vibe readers,
we are at the defining moment in our history. our nation is at war. our economy is in turmoil. more Americans are out of work, and more are working for less. more of you have cars you cant afford to drive, credit bills you cant afford to pay, and tuition that is beyond your reach. and too many Americans have lost faith that their leaders can or will do anything about it.
that's why this election is the most important of our lifetime. we cannot wait any longer for universal health care, or an affordable college education , or good-paying jobs we can count on. we cannot wait to fix our schools, rebuild our communities, or end this war in Iraq. we cannot wait to change the game in Washington
i am running for president to take this country in a new direction. but i cant do it alone i need you. wether its the first time, or the first time in a long time, i need you to register and vote on November 4th
now, i've heard people say, "my vote doesn't matter," "my vote wont count," or " i'm just one person, what possible difference can i make?" and i understand this cynicism. as a young man attempting to what find my own way in the world, i face many of the same choices and challenges facing many of you today. i sometimes doubted that my thoughts and actions really mattered in the larger scheme of things.
but i made a choice. i chose to check in, to get involved, and to try and make a difference in people's lives. its what led me to my work as a community organizer in chiago, where i worked with churches to rebuild struggling communities on the south side. its what led me to teach and to run for public office. and even today, i hear the skepticism. too often , our leaders let us down. they don't seem to do much to make our lives better. so i understand the temptation to sit elections out.
but this year, when the stakes are this high, and the outcome will be so close i need you to choose to vote. not just because so many have fought for your right to, even though they have. not just because our very citizenship demands it, even though it does.
i need you to choose to vote because if you don't, you give your silent endorsement to the way things are. you cast an equally powerful ballot for four more years that look just like the the last eight. and at a time when Americans everywhere are hurting, i need you to make a difference.
that's why out campaign has launched a website to make the process easy. voteforchange.com is a one-stop shop to help you register to vote, check your registration status, apply for an absentee ballot, and find out where your polling place is on election day.
at defining moments like this one, the change we need doesn't come from Washington. change comes to Washington. change happens because the American people demand it- because they rise up to say "enough", and insist on new ideas and new leadership, a new politics for a new time.
all across America, something is stirring. the change we need is coming. and if you register to vote, and get your friends and neighbors, classmates and coworkers to do the same, and if you stand with me on November 4th, then together, we will win this election and change this country."
"i agree with what barrack obama stands for. i am encouraging everyone to go out and vote. its no secret that i support barrack. people have to make their own decision but i let them know what i think. if i obama doesn't win it means that unfortunately people aren't ready for a change"-greg oden(portland trail balzers)

"are you telling me i get to pick, but only get to pick out of two people? i can only pick a Nike or Adidas? my first pick was Reebok, my second pick was puma. so now im left with Adidas and Nike? im going Adidas, man im going with the black high top Adidas. hint hint"-imani(rapper, the pharcyge)
there are a lot of people looking for barrack obama to change think; i think there are things hell be able to change but not things hell be able to stop. people will say 'stop the war, stop the war' he'll be able to change the war- but i don't think hell be able to stop the war"- immortal technique

My biggest fear is that these old gatekeepers continue to down him and influence some of the young that he’s not the person for the job. “I want us to stay engaged[after the election]. Stay oengaged and to continue to demand things from him. Because he is getting in office, that’s just the first step. We’ve got to demand change and continue this movement. He cant do it by himself. We have got to continue to hold him to a certain standard. Its not about race. Its about class. Its because he’s talking to all people”-jurnee smollett(actress)
“im not a voter at all. But this year I gotta vote for barrack. And I’ll probably never vote again. For me this is a one-time only. I think all these guys are the Illuminati straight up. Im casting my vote for “this” member of the Illuminati”-KRS-one

People that never voted in their life voted those days. We broke records as a nation, that goes out to McCain voters and obama voters. Im glad that I actually saw something like this in my day….words cant explain foreal….but I just want minorities to know that this isint going to really change anything. We as a nation have to push things further then this. If you want to change the stereotype then you better get on your shit. Its no excuses now for you not to push and be what you want to be. You don’t have to be a rapper or a basketball player or a football player, try to be a lawyer,a meteorologist something man….this shit is inspirational.
