Once it opens, you will see a notice about the process of who's chosen. This is what it will say:

"There are only 16 spots available, so you may not be accepted into the battle because we want to have strong contestants. It is normally a first-come first-server basis, but we need to check all the entries to take out the ones that are not serious."

"In the past we also had many members that signed up but then never entered the battle, so other members lost their spot to compete. ONLY SIGN UP IF YOU ARE SERIOUS ABOUT ENTERING THIS BATTLE."
