A wassup everybody, I got some money coming in and i'm about start my lab. I was wondering could you guys review my setup, or point out any gear that wouldn't be worth picking up. I'm kind of short on cash and don't want to waste any money.

I think your goin overboard on some of that. I hear good things about the microkontrol, but every thing else you listed was kinda too much.

$400 for your first mic, and a $600 preamp? I dont know how much money your gettin but you could still set your budget lower.

instead of getting that soundcard or preamp why dont you just get the:
tascam 1082 http://www.tascam.com/Products/fw1082.html this is the best deal for you about $800
or
tascam 1804 http://www.tascam.com/Products/fw1804.html not a daw controler about $600
or the one i got
tascam 1884 http://www.tascam.com/Products/FW-1884.html about $1,300

all these units act as soundcard for computers thought firewire, the 1082 and 1884 have daw control support for cubase and many others. i control protools with my 1884 and the mic preamps are off the hook on these things.

for a mic since you are recording to your computer you could afford to get a mic like the nady TCM1050 Tube Mic with Flight Case and Shockmount for $300 http://www.zzounds.com/item--NDYTCM1050
and use some good plugins like the Waves series or something http://www.waves.com/
that antares tube is no good, got mine a year and a half ago and i dont even use it, is not worth it. if you could afford any of the waves series pluins you should get them thats top of the line shit right there. if you cant afford it you should try to get some steinberg plugins, they got some preety decent vst and make sure whatever you get it includes a compresor for your vocals and a good eq.

if you got more questions holla at me.
