So that other uses may benefit from the replies this thread might recieve, I will not e-mail my thoughts to you.

If you're looking for a custom computer, and the M-Box, check www.carillonusa.com. They make dedicated Audio PC's and build ready-to-go systems with Reason and also with ProTools M-Box. I am sure they can build one with both.
If like me, that's a little too much for you, just make sure your custom PC has lots of RAM. I am personally using 2GB RAM.
I have Reason installed and Rewire it to ProTools. I use the M-Box as soundcard, mic pre-amp and recorder.
I would get the Radium 61 key.
If the turntables in that Numark set is belt drive, I would get magnetic driven instead. Belt drive is usually slower to start and respond and not very good with scratch. If you not going to record mix tapes with them, then you don't really need 2 turntables straight away. You can just start off with 1 and a mixer, and get the second turntable later.

Anyway, it all sounds fine to me, depends on what you want from your system. I am just puzzled that you want the M-Box and Audiophile 24/96. Why have 2 soundcards?
Also, you may need an external mixer to plug in the MV8000 via to your soundcard, at least you may need to do so with the M-Box, I am not too familiar with the Audiophile.

I think that would be too much at once if i was just starting.
If you know how to run everything, then that would be a hot setup. But if your really just starting and you dont know what your doing, id suggest using less things.

(im not tryin to insult you, i just dont know how much experience you got)

I think your biggest mistake would be using the M-Box. All lower-end ProTools offer the same things like a good sequencer, like Logic, Cubase, or Sonar have.

These are the "cores" of what your computer editing should use... they offer complete MIDI and extensive audio functionality (in their later versions.) An editor, like SoundForge, or CoolEdit would work well with it.

The MBOX is simply trying to compete with Logic, Cubase, Sonar, by capitalising on the ProTools name. The "real" protools are the higher end system like HD. Don't get those confused at all.

However, if you are learning from someone who already uses the 02, maybe he will show you the ins and outs of PT and you will learn faster, I don't know, but I gave you my thoughts.

Sincerely,
God
