^Really? Dang thats interesting... Id be suprised if they dropped some new hardware so soon after releasing the 2500.That was, what, 2 years ago? They are still getting kinks worked out of that so Id be raising eyebrows if they dropped a 3500 right now...

akai will neva go out of business lol

mpc are great sequencers.... and ok samplers ... the 5000 talks alot but it aint sayin nothing. of all the things that are not included on the 5000 that should have been... i would say leaving out aksys is the number one dumbass thing they did... that feature alone makes the mpc 4000 so much more flexible and intergrateable(is that a word?) into the rest of my setup. the sequencing and sampling capabilities of the 5000 are weaker than the 4k ... bottom line end of story.... i dont need to hear about how an 8 track recorder or thin synth is gonna boost its usefulness because its not.

lmao...it's all a "silly ass" argument/disagreement what ever you want to call it. Those who have the 2500 think they have the MPC mecca, those who have the 4k think they do. You got the die hard 3k owners who would kill yo mama if you said they didn't have the best MPC ever made ( they may have a point, it's the only one that was re-released because of user demand ), I have a 2k and I'm satisfied with it.

Guess what? AT THE END OF THE DAY THAT'S ALL THAT MATTERS. Neither makes your finger tipS platinum or make you the next "SUPER PRODUCER".

p.s. the people over at AKAI have a vast research department and I'm sure they did their homework. I don't think they're in the business of putting out gear that the consumer hasn't called for. Evidently those consumers and loonnnnngggg time users of the MPC put these new features on there wish list and therefore AKAI put out the product that they wanted. I don't think AKAI puts to much thought into users like me who will probably never upgrade to the latest MPC. Mine does what I need it to do at this time and for what it doesn't, there are "better" software programs that are less expensive that do.
