what's good? i've had the mpc 4000 for a while now. pretty much learned everything on it. but i'm still trying to figure out how to do set the pads to a "one shot" like the 2xl. i know that's not the technical term for it, but hey it works for me. anyway, for anyone that has the 4000 knows that you have to hold the pad down to play the whole sample, but i want to just hit the pad once and let it play. (i have my reasons) i figured i'd swallow my pride and ask. so if someone can help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. i hope i was clear on what i'm asking for. (be easy)

im not sure if technically this correct, but ill tell you how i do it... first i set ther "poly" of the program to 1. Thhis means that only one pad is working at once.... to do that go to programs then go to micellaneous set the poly to 1..... and the aftertouch all the way up...then i just go back to the edit 1 page and edit All .. set the realease to its highest setting.... this way only one pad is active at once... and now if u just hit the pad it will play the whole sample because the aftertouch and release are all the way up .... thats just how i do it there may be a diffrent way but it defintely works

good looking fam. will this also work once the sample is sliced up? would i have to set each pad like that? you might have answered that, if so, my apologies. thanks for being helpful. by the way, i think "poly" is the correct term. the guy at the guitar center used the same term, so i assume it's correct. too bad he couldn't tell me how to adjust the "freakin" thing...

From the Program menu, you can set samples to play in One Shot mode from the Zone Page. Just look for "Play Mode". "ONE SHOT" is one of the choices.

Hope that helps.
