This topic on this site has been beat to death homie, I wouldn't be surprised if it gets closed. But they both have their advantages and disadvantages.

i only ask because i used to have a 2000xl and i want to know what the differences are....i am thinking of replacing it and i want to know what the differences or pros and cons are of both machines...........thought about the 2500 as well .... so i am trying to find MPC HEADS that can point me in the right direction

Save your money and get the Mpc 1000 with the new OS ... it does everything the 2000xl does.

well if you have the money go for the 2k, its definitely the more capable machine, afterall it is the higher level model, thats why it costs more. hoewever, the deciosn that you have to amke is whent\\ther or not you can make do with the 1k, simplicity is often better than extra capabilites, if you are not gioing to acutally use them..

ps i have a 1k and am [perfectily happy it does everyhint g i needc to do and mroe. its more in youer mind man. not the machine. haha
