MIDI Question

I just bought me a midi keyboard last night. My question is how do I connect this thing to my computer. Computers don't have MIDI things in the back so I'm confused. Will someone please answer my question.

If its a newer controller it should have a USB port on it, you just plug it in and connect to your computer's USB port, load the driver and that should be it aside from choosing it in your application..

I know about USB and I don't think it's all that new it has a midi out thing on it and thats all It didn't come with any disk or anything

ok then it should have a midi out or midi in, what you need is a Y cable....its a midi cable that interfaces to the joystick port on the computer.....the 2 ends of the Y are midi in and out.....if your controller has midi out and midi in plugs....you plug the out from the Y to the in on the controller and the in from the Y to to the out on the controller.....
