When i'm playing my midi keyboard the deeper note i hit the slower the instrument goes. Is there anyway i can fix this.

I believe you have to change your settings either in the piano roll from pitch to volosity or it may be in your keyboard. sounds like your keyboard is telling your midi to trigger pitch rather than volosity

yeah theres 2 ways to do it if i remember right.
you can set the default in your midi options or at your piano roll at the bottom left where the velosity pull down bar is

is there a way to change the octave rather than the pitch?

Yes. One way is to hit the octave buttons on your controller if there's any else bring up the channel settings window(just click one of the channels) and then click MISC, then you'll see a keyboard at the bottom of this window. Right click on whatever note you want middle C on your keyboard to start at.
