i just went to see MC Diverse, Madlib and Peanut Butter Wolf live. So i get there and Madlibs behind the decks.

yes madlib you are a good producer but mixing in a bunch of tracks, 70 % of them terrible, is fucking pathetic. but you still manage to think you are good enough to demand the levels be turned up for your wack set. yeah nice one dickhead, the engineer spent time and effort to get the levels right then you come and distort the shit out of everything till all we can hear is bass. yeah you should get off the decks and make way for Peanut Butter Wolf.

if i had closed my eyes i would not have been able to tell the difference between Madlibs set and PB wolfs set. same wack shit mixed into the same wack shit. the occasional gem. for fuck sake you spend your whole life practicing to be a psyco behind the decks and then thats all you have to fucking show? and this after saying "this is our last show here and is gonna be our best!". fuckin wack cunt.

so i sit on the lounges for a while waiting with the rest of the crowd for diverse to save the show.

just perfect. diverse is flowing like a motherfucker but you cant ever hear what hes saying cos madlib is so good that he needs the levels turned up. needless to say, the crowd was finding it hard to get pumped

well instead of staying for the anticlimax at the end we walked out of the club while diverse was in the middle of a flow.

that show cost me 30 bucks.

im blaming madlib and PB wolf for doing NOTHING and setting a wack mood for when Diverse came on to rock it.

that was a fucking disaster. the most excruciating thing ive ever experianced.

damn man. that sucks. i've only been to a couple of concerts, and no rap or hip hop. all rock and alternative. like, i saw blink 182 and the clay people, and a bunch of other bands at Edgefest. I went twice. i saw rob zombie one year. everybody was gettin pretty pumped for that. some dude like, od'd there. either he was drunk or high as fuck, or he was doin some other thing. we looked over and saw him being carried out. he was in bad shape. but yea, that sucks that the concert was crappy. too bad.

*not suprised........... after hearing the jaylib record...... i have never been impressed with madlib. i saw him during his lootpack days here in little ol hemet california at a friggin skating rink.. i liked them becasue they had a dope cut on the beat junkies compilation but that was it.. they sucked at that "show" as well... madlib has one of the biggest rap egos i have seen in print and yet he hasnt really done all that much.... and then i start finding a lil respect for him even though i have a lways thought he was overated and then things like this happen and i go back to disliking him............. anyways....... yo nug did you get my message? did you write him yet?

i hear you mesh, man i went to a "hip hop and drum and bass" showcase last sunday, it was the wackest thing ever, the two main hip hop acts (Taskforce and phi li cypher) didnt show, the sound system cocked it 5 times in the main room and the second room was so low volume you could hear the first room! There was a full body search on the door, i got my pulse and eyes checked to see if i was "on drugs" the beer was bout £3.50 a pint ($6) an all the emcees were wack, terying to be a london rude boy, fuck live shows man they only disappoint, unless you at a festival, then all live shows rock...Outdoors seems to be the only good place ive ever seen hip hop, cept dj format and abdominal.....

About Madlib, i haven't heard loads of his stuff so this might be a little pre-judgemental but i've always thought he was BIG TIME over-rated. I saw the interview with him on Red Bull Music Accademy website and he seemed very ARROGANT too

I was at this show with Mr. Messenger, and i have to totally agree with him....i felt sorry for diverse in the end, he really sounded like he would have been great without the others fucking up his mic levels and also bringing the vibe down, he was flowing perfectly, and his voice and mic presence was strong enough...the mic was just muffled by madlib fucking up his levels...oh well, you can bet none of them are coming back...but atleast i can rest assured that aesop and lif should be coming back soon enough
