Yeah reposted here as was for week til July 3rd but people aren’t gonna go looking in the archive this week.
I'm hoping that's one of the things that will change with this new format. With the Showcase it was harder for people to get feedback in a sense because it was weekly. This way you can link right to this thread and it will remain open as opposed to the Showcase closing each week.

Nice job on this here! This was really original and creative. I think 2 things you can try that might help the beat would be swinging the drums, and changing the velocity of certain kicks and snares. Additionally, I feel like some of the vsts sound stock, but that might be a mixing or a processing. Great job bro!

Thanks man, I need to take note of the velocity on the drums as have full level on the pads when hitting out a drum pattern. Velocity will give the drums a more natural feel so I need to start implementing that, thanks

Hey @InsideOutBeats, how's things?

I had a listen last night and was going to leave feedback but didn't want to just give you a "ditto" of @Rah.sool . Hopefully I can offer you something that might give you some inspiration or gets that little extra out of your beats.

What DAW are you using? this would help for alot for feedback and recommending software.

Like Rah said I think the instruments sound a little stocky. Are they? What vst are you using for these? Even if they are stock you can still manipulate them to the point it's impossible to tell. Have you got any saturation, bit crusher vst's? These would help offer you up an original sound. You can pick up some decent free one's here https://www.pluginboutique.com/categories/32-Bit-Crusher?free=true

Not sure what you've got in terms of vst's but it's worth plundering every free plugin that's offered on these sites - keep what works or adds to your beats and delete the rest. Waves quite often give really good deals too and they have some really nice vst's - https://www.waves.com. Not sure what budget you have but even a few hundred would get you a very nice setup.

I'd recommend a decent multi band compressor too, this gives you lots of scope and can really funk up some stock sounds, especially when used with a saturation / bit crusher. Plus you will end up using it on all of your mixer tracks. Master, vocals, instruments, drums...

What effects are you putting on your master track with this one? it's lacking a little energy and the dynamics seem dull. Have you got a compressor on the master track?

The drums are a bit rigid and don't sound as natural - this may be purely a personal thing as I know some folk don't want their drums to sound natural. Rah's tip about the velocities is a good one and will have an instant impact. Do you add your drums to a drum bus? (ie. send all of your drum parts to a track in your mixer?) If you don't do this already I highly recommend you do this too. This brings your drums together and makes it sound like they've been played together in the same room. I'd also add some swing to them. Just those simple and easy to do adjustments will completely change the sound of your drums and your beats.

Hope there's something in there for you that helps!

Hey @hosie, I’m all good hope your well brother.

Haha right, every beat I make is all solely in my Mpc Live, no DAW and have never used one.

Yeah for this beat I didn’t chop a sample so used plug-ins for violin and piano.
My drums I’ve used compressor master, piano - AIR Reverb and AIR Filter. Violin -small Reverb.

No effects used on the master.
Saturation is built in to some filter effects but I’m still pretty new playing with these effects, so many of them, long learning process.

Also need to start using the drum bus as you mentioned.

Many thanks brother plenty of feedback there and options to consider with future beats
