Legally Hiring Over Seas.....

I probably need to get some legal advice, but ya never know, maybe someone here has some pointers/ideas/advice!

Here is the deal. My guy has to go back to his home country at the end of the year. He is currently here in the US on a school visa (passport). In order for him to remain in the US he has to either go to school longer or get a job. The problem is he is pretty much done with school and most employeers wont spend the time doing the paper work just to hire somebody who will require a work visa. My guy does work with me exclusivly within my label.

If I legitimized my label by getting a DBA certificate and getting a tax ID #, which I believe is required to have if you plan on hiring anyone to your small business/label, would that make me legit enough to hire, so to speak, a person from over seas and give them an opportunity to get a work visa and come back the states legally? Does a small business have to have a special permit/license to hire and allow people from another country to obtain a work visa in the US? Could there be a tremendous cost involved?

My bad, I know this is not an ordanary music question, but I thought somebody here may have some advice. Any suggestions, even a link to a website would be helpful. Thanx, peace. PM

I don't know about the states, but in Denmark I am quite sure you have to prove/show that the person is paid enough from you to not to rely on the system.
Also, I know the paperwork here would be very bureaucratic and time consuming.
Again, this is Denmark, and our imigration politics are very strict, so it may differ a lot from the states.
No matter what answers people might have for you here, I would still get some legal advice on the subject, or call the state yourself and ask them. Tell them you want to start a company which does this and that. That it might involve having some of your artists from abroad living in the US, and if that is a possibility, how to go about it.
