i have a midi board and when I lowered the buffer everything started to skip. i'm trying to record using for bars. Do i have extend my bars for the pattern i'm playing. I'm playing a pattern with a beat but when i record live it's off. can anyone help me with this.

A basic thought on latency is basically the time it takes the audio chipset to respond to input and output.

By lowering your latency in ms, you are telling the computer to only take that amount of time to process my action whether turning a knob on your midi controller or pressing a key.

Would be as long as the audio card you are using is fast along with your computer's processor, memory and other factors.

A slower computer and soundcard will not be able to give you the real feel because of the time it takes to process the signal.

So what kind of card are you using and how fast is the machine??
