Hoppa too, Ash too, shit, I think the majority of people on here has sold a beat for money and/or record tracks. Also, define "success" in the industry. Most of the times the artists ain't the ones making the money, it's usually the labels. Also now that everything is downloaded, 36000 units will put you at #5 on the billboard charts, so times have changed, if you sell 1000 copies of your album, it's impressive (whereas ten years ago it wouldn't have been shit).
I've worked with a lot of good people, placed beats on LPs/ produced music for fashion shows and spent the last year archiving and remixing some golden age hip hop.
I think if you, your friends and your family got happiness and health that's the real target, so much of this "rock star" type mentality is a house of mirrors, total BS...

There's plenty more than Mr. G.O.D. that are members of this site -
Would Fade be considered "in the industry" since he's the mastermind of this whole thing ??

I don't consider myself "in the industry" - I'm just an opportunist that capitalizes from its mere existence.

Individuals who would file unemployment if the industry crumbled tomorrow, are "in the industry" because their
taxable earnings are based off the successes and failures of the music business.

If the music business crumbled tomorrow, then I would switch gears and just do the same thing that I do now in
fashion, film or whatever else made sense.

One thing I'd like to point out is that there are numerous ways to be in the industry and be successful without even being an artist or producer.

If you really love music and truly want it to be a part of your daily gameplan, assess what your talents are and I guarantee that you can carve out a niche for yourself.

If you got questions, PM me and I'll explain the steps in basic terms
