ive been throwing this idea around in my head for a while (caution...i dont claim to know all the logistics of if yet, which is why i think we all should discuss it)

i've always wanted to hear all the illmuzik mc's together on one or a couple tracks. i was thinking the next beat this comp should have a "posse cut" theme. we'll take an mc roll call and figure out how many beats we are going to need to fit all the illmuzik mc's on comfortably (4 to 5 per beat maybe?) we choose the best beats for the job and host those in a downloadable form. then, each mc will download the beat and record a verse to it. then he can send his acapella verse to a previously chosen master producer who will mix all the verses onto the original beat(s) voila...we will have one or more illmuzik mc crew tracks

Sounds fun to me. I'd love to do a collaboration w/ the other mcs from Illmuzik. I've never done a collaboration before, and I do better when I don't pull double duty, rhyming and producing. Good idea Agent Smith!!

i'm down, but i'm not as experienced at vocals as most mcs here. i haven't drank since the 13th and am going to make a beat and rap for everyother showcase if homework and the part-time job doesnt interfere, so my experience should be getting up to par in the next year. jmaafia, check me out in the last showcase and in future showcases to see if you'd like me in on this. I'd never put my name on the line unless it's ill. If this is done in the next 6 months i should be in, though if it's done in the next 2 months i might not be up to par. i write lyrics with ease, but my timing and expression in delivering it needs more practice. great idea

i think it might take a couple weeks to work out all the bugs. if its cool with fade maybe we can start the ball rolling so that we can put these joints on the next compilation cd.

as of now we need to figure these things out:
-we need to get a definitive list of mc's who are for sure able to do this. (maybe a sticky to be closed at a certain date?)
-we need to either have fade make the next beat this comp the posse track theme or otherwise we need to stage our own mini competition to get the beats.
-we need a panel of judges to select the beats (perhaps the moderators and i'll volunteer for this as well)
-we need a master producer who is ill at mixing and mastering to compile all the verses

i think the most important thing right now is having a list of mc's...that way we know how many beats we'll actually need. the next most important thing is how we are going to get these beats (looking in fade's direction)

But I have to agree with Haze... No stinkin mp3's. This should be done for real. Wav all the way.

Is there a signup form or a panel checking the beats out, check my stuff out to see if it's what you'r on the hunt for. You can check it out {--------- at my name there on the left.

And man, if it's ment to be a colidoscope of both beats and MC's then I think you'd better set a BPM so there's no tempo diff..
