I know, i'm sure it's an obvious answer to you guys, but i make some search on the forum and a little on the net, and I haven't found anything so...is it possible to play the sound of the Motif ES Rack with Cubase or..with any computer program??

And it will be possible to play the motif rack sound with cubase?? Does cubase recognise it automatically? Because I went to some dude studio, he had many many racks, a motif, phantom, triton, asr-10. He hooked up the motif es keyboard to Logic and all the sound of the keyboard were showing up on the computer. So i wanted to know if the same thing will be happening on Cubase.

I got to get my ass a motif es rack, cuz the sound on the Motif Es were crazy crazy crazy

u need to study more about midi, a sequncer is a sequncer like truth said, it dosent matter if its hardware or software. Things work the same way.

MPC sequncer sends MIDI signals to my motif rack to trigger sounds

Cold truths cubase sequncer sends MIDI signals to his motif rack to trigger sounds.

somebody's logic sequncer sends MIDI signals to there motif rack to trigger sounds.
ITs the same thing man

yo, that the main fuggin purpose they build cubasis for in the first place lol!

1. Hook up your midi cables, in -> out / out -> in.
2. Now I dont know no motif, but its all the same. 16 chnls/parts multitimbrale. On sx you just make a midi track, set to your midi device's out and your done. The motif is probably already set for channels 1 to be set to Part1 and that you have the option to go in Multimode (16chnls) or Singlemode (1chnl). With Single mode you have the full performance, you should hear difference when taking the same Patch in multimode.
3. There are mixermaps and Cubase files available fro the motif, which have a templated interface for your Motif and there are also loads of support for Steinberg product, especialy now Yamaha owns Steinberg. If you download the lot you'd have a complete pc interface for you ES, which is quite convenient.
