if there is anyone out there who's good with midi i need some serious help

i have the mpc(which i'm going to use for samples till i get it full blown out with memory) and the mp7, m-audio audiophile USB 24/96 digital interface that goes into my pc and homestudio. i think i want to set up my studio so that i can the samples from the mpc into one of the triggers of the mp7, and from there run all my sequences into my homestudio so i can mix down and tightin' up all the ruff ends and burn it to disc and upload online. any suggestions and advice will be greatfully appreciated. holla back. one.

again here's a list of the equipment i have to setup:
akai mpc 2000 xl
emu mp7
m-audio audiophile 24/96 USB digital interface
pc (home studio 2004xl)
turntable setup

how i would like to setup equipment thru midi(audiophileUSB):
1.homestudio - master(for mixing and burning to cd)
2.emu mp7
3.akai mpc 2000xl - turntables lined into mpc

any and all suggestion and advice are greatfully appreciated. thanks. holla back. one.

midi

I assume the audio audiophile 24/96 has midi in and midi out.
let me see if i understand...
from your computer...you want to trigger the mp7 and to trigger the sample the sound to the mpc.

what I would do is have the computer to be the Master. that controls your out board gears and everything else be Slaves.

Take the midi out from the computer and midi in to the MP7. From the MP7, take the midi out to the MPC midi in.

hmmmm
I hope this helps

You would want to hook the midi cable to the midi out of the mpc and into the midi in of the mp7. This would let you trigger the mp7's sounds on the mpc. Then record the audio out of the mpc and into the sound card of your pc. But to record samples to the mp7 or mpc you wouldn't use midi, you would use audio, Midi just tells your sequencer when to play the sampled sound via audio. Midi isn't audio.

if i understand you correctly, i beleive that first you will be better off at using the mpc as your midi sequencer and use the mpc to trigger the sounds on your mp7. or you can set up your mpc as the master and mp7 as the slave and use the midi clock in the mpc to control the mp7.
either way you have to hook your midi cables to both machines. (midi in on the mpc to midi out on the mp7 & viceversa) then run your audio cables in to your audio card for recording in software.

but keep in mind when trigering sounds from another device you will not hear those sounds on that device. you must have both devices main audio outs going into your audio card.
