aight i got two questions that i need to know about:

one...... i rap, for two and a half years now, but when i write my songs and verses, i just do it till i think that its enough for a verse. everyone always talks about the 16 bar verses though and how a rappers verse should be that long and shit. but, how do i know when i have written 16 bars? is it two sentences a bar or what?

two... i am starting to make beats and shit. and am teaching myself the keyboard and turntables. i own both so i practice on my free time. i am going to college this fall for audio engineering and recording. (producing). but i want to make more beats with a wider variety of sounds. what kind of hardware could i buy and still hook up my keyboard to and make beats? i was thinking of a beatmaker for now but im not sure. can i hook up a keyboard to the drum machine? or if you guys have any advice on hardware to get started with. also, i could run shit through my cpu after too.

all advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks. =Frase

as a rapper, counting bars should come naturally, a bar is not based on sentences its based on measurements, a bar consist of 4 count measurements 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4 (2 bars) whenu rhyme to a beat u should know when your 16 bars are up just byt the time, like i said it should come naturally, as far as your other question goes, thats technical shit i dont know, im runnin fruityloops with a turntable kid, im still tryin to find a MPC for sale so i can teach myself, just be careful not to set off another Sampling vs. Originality extravaganza...hope i helped out
