I think I have a Deezer account but I don't use it. I usually bounce between my MP3 collection (keeping it old school!) and YouTube.Anyone here w/a subscription (or not) e.g. are you Spotify-ing, Tidal-ing, etc.?

Still SpotifyReviving this old thread
PS: headphones. After moving from house to house, town to town , country to country so many times I don't have a good audio system in the last 2 decades...I’ve always hated Spotify, and I don’t like Deezer, Tidal, or similar services either. Sometimes I find things on YouTube, but not often. I buy very little on Apple Music unless I find something on Bandcamp. A bit of my method is old-school: I search through magazines (I really like The Quietus, for example) and fanzines, specialized sites perhaps on specific genres, or on Rate Your Music and Album of the Year. I also have quite a few friends who give recommendations. Alternatively, I listen to DJ sets, go through the tracklists, and I keep discovering remarkable music. The offerings have become immense, the average quality may have dropped, and the search process is longer, but I continue to find wonderful albums.
Yeah but, where are you listening to those things?I’ve always hated Spotify, and I don’t like Deezer, Tidal, or similar services either. Sometimes I find things on YouTube, but not often. The audio quality is bad and they are over prized, but AirPods are the only in ear headphones using this fancy new wireless technology in the world.Apple Music and YouTube.
I've been listening to full albums lately on my hour commute to/from work. I've been re-discovering some classics and records I missed from the 90s. Sound quality is good, and I like that you can see similar artists. I also like the "Top Songs" or "Essentials" playlist for most artists on Apple Music.
If I'm at home, or chipping away at admin work, I'm almost always listening on my AirPods. Say what you will about the quality of them as headphones. But I like the wireless functionality and not missing notifications/phone calls.
I'm assuming you're being cheeky, but the wireless functionality is indeed handy. Are there other wireless airbuds, sure. Do they all integrate seamlessly with my iPhone? No. This is not an Apple vs. Android debate, but rather there's a medium that works well with my hardware that allows me to listen to music. Quality, diversity aside, that's all it comes down to.The audio quality is bad and they are over prized, but AirPods are the only in ear headphones using this fancy new wireless technology in the world.
