Hissing sound in PT 8 LE Mac!!

We're recording a song in PT 8 LE.....and we're getting this hissing noise on one of the tracks....Even when the track isn't playing, there's that hiss noise, we can't get rid of it...any thoughts??

Do you have an intrument track on?
I have had Xpand on and the synth will just sound for no reason and you have to open it then click the little vol looking thing on the left of the title of whatever synth is on top.

yea sounds like you are picking something up, try turning it off for that track.

hell if it aint too bad I just strip silence the uneccesary and call it "ambience"

The track is the only one that has that...I'm thinking of possibly duping it and see if the other track does the same thing...

Is there anything plugged in to the input that is routed to that track? and sorry what interface?

same problem... someone told me I need to update the software, but I don't really use pro tools, just to dump logic sessions into when i have an artist that needs the pro tools session and isnt capable of inporting the tracks themselves lol.

Step, copy the audio...Delete the track. Open a new track and put the audio in... Worked for me.
