Happy Belated New Year,
I spent the last four days at my parents-in-law's for spring festival. No red envelopes for me but my daughter cleaned up. Over here the kids get red envelopes and the young adults give presents to the old folks; we get nothing but drunk and full. I can feel a four days of drinking hangover coming on now.
I had to play the deputy host at my parents-in-laws' when all the cousins came over. That means I'm the designated drinker to represent the family. They only drink together during a meal and the host, (me), initiates every drink with some platitude wishing everyone health, wealth, happiness etc. Then everyone has to empty their glass. Lucky for me they drink beer and not 'Baijiu' the traditional drink that is usually anywhere from 50% alcohol or more, (Fade knows what I'm talking about). Although I still managed to get somewhat tipsy.
Wednesday night was also cracker night. The fireworks don't stop until the next morning so you don't really get much sleep unless you get really drunk. We got this crazy cracker off my wife's cousin that came in its own box that proclaimed it contained 80,000 individual crackers! I didn't count that many but it did go for a while. If I can figure out how to embed video I'll show you what it was like.
Anyway Happy Year of the Rat. Hope you all get where you want to be this year. I know I could use some better luck than I've had lately. Cheers.
