Helping fools get their "velocity" straight!
Yo i jus thought i would drop some more minor insight towards tha Reason users and explain how to fix tha velocity of those pesky hits that are cluttered by som many others that when you go to adjust that shit with yer pencil you end up changing like 4 others in tha process!?! That shit used to piss me off royal until i read tha manual a little more...Anyways, heres a little tip on how to get around that if yer like me, and yer projects get pretty involved and eventually need some minor fine-tuning to polish it up...
heres tha instructions that will coincide with tha screenshots ill upload shortly:
1. First off, this can be applied to any note being hit in tha program, but i find it mostly beneficial to altering tha drum section...
2. So you have yer drum section in front of you and you found tha snare or whatever it is thats bugging you, cuz when that part of tha song arrives tha track is starting to tone down.
3. After locating tha exact hit that you want to alter, go ahead and click on it.
4. Next, dont even bother fucking with tha velocity lane and altering it with tha pencil unless you have mad patience...
5. Heres what i suggest; instead once u have highlighted tha note or hit to be changed, then "Right Click" and choose "Change Events"...
6. Ever wonder what tha fuck this window was even there for??? Yeah, me to until i took tha time to figure it out and it was well worth it...
7. So now you got this window open with different percentages that u can adjust at will...
Youl notice that theres all tha things you could do without tha window open, but now your able to more finally tune a single hit or for that matter, various hits if you were to hold down shift and then click on all tha designated hits you wanted...
8. So go down to "Velocity" and click on tha either tha UP or DOWN arrow to adjust tha amount/ percentage desired...
9. And thats it!....Now your shits soundin nice like it should and you didnt have to dick with tha pencil for an hour to get just that one note adjusted!
10. Enjoy
