I would like to know if this mixer which i plan on buying would be able to connect the following...

: M-Audio Audiophile 2496 (Soundcard)
www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/Audiophile2496-main.html

: M-Audio BX8a (Monitors)
www.m-audio.com/products/en_us/StudiophileBX8a-main.html

: Turntable (Normal RCA)

I'm just unsure if the size of it will fit all of the cables on that is needed as i've never had one before and would like to know so that i don't have to return the item.

Any help would be good, thanks.

I can tell that you are new to the production so i would advise using software to the fullest potiential because it is great now-a-days and you can demo it for free. But the mixer you shown looks like it has 2/ins and 10/outs. Consider the implications of connecting your hardware together in a workable etiquette. Also, the line inputs and outputs are mono 1/4" plugins so in actuality you would have 1/in and 5/outs in Stereo. great works in you,

My first real studio mixer was a YAMAHA PROMIX 01. Guess what....I still have and use it. In my opinion is the best home studio mixer, not to mention how it performs live!~ I've never had one problem with it. See if you can find one on ebay. I've had mine for at least 5 yrs. and it hasn't become obsolete to this day.

Thanks for both replying, i ended up ordering the mixer and soundcard the other day so hopefully they should be ok for just connecting the turntable/monitors to as i don't plan on using one for a mic or any other hardware at the moment but if i do need anything like that later on when i have been setup i can just go for another one.

Also, the line inputs and outputs are mono 1/4" plugins so in actuality you would have 1/in and 5/outs in Stereo. great works in you,

Does that mean it will be ok, just unsure of what you mean.

some mixer phuck up your signal chain, like i advised a friend to take out the behringer mixer out of his recording path and using the battlemixer(rane/vestax) mic pre/in instead...it sounded much better. So in much ways it will offer functionality but it shouldnt be degrading your signalchain. So, pick up a good mixer, i know soundcraft has very nice, good sounding desktopmixers.
