SO Im moved in and my listening enviroment is somewhat exceptable....BUT the "booth" like many other booths is the closet, my former booth was a walk in which had good acoustics, this one is a 2 door thing that is like 6' long and 2 1/2 ' deep and 7 feet high.
This new one sounds like shit. No matter what padding I put up in it, it sounds like.. a closet.
I guess I got spoiled before because it didnt occur to me this can happen.
So far its been ok because the music sort of covers it but...as the engineer on most things we do it drives me nuts!
Its boxy sounding it has bad reflections and in my ear is obviuosly exactly what it is.

Any help with this would be appreciated..

i think padding can only so so much..it sounds like ur closet is really small not much room for ur vocals to use the room as far as natural reverberation..i honestly think that wit a small closet u can only expect and do so much

u might need to cop a ... fuc.... whatver those thing are called ... those "portable booths" that are basically screens shaped a certain way.. i think u know what im talking about ... they are like $300 bucks at guitar center... but u might wanna experiment a bit more first.. maybe use less foam and place it more strategic .. my closet is mad small but I still get a really good out of it. I took out some of the foam out and spreaded it out more evenly and it sounded better than just packing the thing full of foam. It suprises me that u get reflections though... i know that closets get boxy but reflections too is gonna be a problem. Is ur mic right up against the wall? that will give u reflections.. ... maybe u should take a pic and post it.
