I'm a do-it-yourself type mofo. I'm gonna list my equipment and what I wanna do and would appreciate if I could get some suggestions on taking my stuff to the next level.

Equipment: MPC 2000, Roland JV 2080, Elec Guitar /Amp, Korg Karma
Apple Cpu (no software currently)

My Vision: Make beats, lay down lyrics, and mix and master my material all in my house. Burn it to CD and market it worldwide.

What can I add to the equipment listed to put it all together so that I can record, mix and master??

I can recommend a RME 9652 hammerfall with 24 chnl I/O, mix internal or fetch a good analogue console for blending the output/input signal. Look for something with either 4+ busses or track outs ( basically a multitrack mixer ). Try mackie/A&H/

Try logic/cubase for apple and the mpc in a midi trough setup. That way you can use both mpc and software to produce and send files back and forward during the process, meaning you can produce with logic/cubase alone and playback with mpc ( simply records all midi data, set to mpc to multi ). The setup also implies you can simply disconnect the midi I/O @ the pc from the rest of the chain and take it on stage without a fuzz.

Want to boost things up a little on signal processing, try the TC finalizer and a 2chnl DAC by Apogee.

Some nice nearfield?

Done, this should get you up to industrial standards. Only thing I could suggest might be a rack sampler of good quality. But it's not completely neccesary.
