Help- i need a specific conga sound, and help modulating a patch

I need a percussion sound- like the one on redmans "I'll be that" or eminems "ballad". I used to have it, and its kind of essential to a beat I have to remake from the ground up. Also, I need help modulating a horn patch. I need it to crescendo upand rapidly descend after its apex-not just end at the apex like most of these. i have tried some things but i am lost here... any clues on that one? i need these for the beats my A&R asked me to submit... thanks in advance.

how about getting an inhouse musician to record from? I mean, you get paid for this so it should be worth the effort to rent a good tube mic and pay a musician for 30 minutes of material. A good boost to your library aswell when recorded correctly.

true, i am in the process of doing this with a guitarist, however my *current* funds are quite low. once i have established a repoire with this guy and steady money coming in from producing, i plan on creating a custom set of drum sounds, as well as getting me a live horn section.

sounds like your sorted for the percussion sample, although i do have a massive persussion library...
i wish i could help you with the horn patch but i havent played around with my XV often enough. if you find out how to modulate the horn patch the way you wanted to, let me know how you did it, cheers. Mr. Roland will be getting a bit of a work out...
