Trying to decide on which software package to go with and Im looking at two options for making beats.Pretty much I want some that easy to learn, easy to use and flexibility as far as makin beats. Abelton Live 5 and FL studio 6 seem to have all of these features but im confused about which one to get

Live 5 seems to have more features as far as beat makin and Fl studio 6 seems to have alot of feature too. I need some help deciding

Advice is welcomed!!!!!!

personally I think Live is the better choice, its more functional and easier to use straight out the box

I dont know which one has more features, they probably do just about the same thing

but Live has one up because it automatically syncs all ur loops or phrases to the main tempo without changing pitch

i've been using live for a couple months now and i gotta say i think it's a better way to go over FL6. thats assuming you got a midi controller of some kind. Its better also cause it will allow you really try and mix the things that you do on it. frankly the potential i see in it is alot larger.
(plus i worked out how screw and chop stuff on it really easily,he he )

I'm voting for FL6 on this one... between the ease of use and its compatibility w/ almost everything out here are huge factors to me.

W/ that said... questions like this are inherently biased... Even if someone has used both (I've used both Live and FL), most times people vote for the program they use extensively... but what works for me, won't necessarily work for you...

So I'd recommend trying both... and seeing what you come out with.

I gotta go with FL Studio as well...

You don't need a MIDI controller, which is awsome if you're on a budget.

FL does this as well if the samples got regions in it. Either way FL can time-stretch without regions.

You don't need a controller in Ableton Live.

I used ableton live and fruity (since version 3 just upgraded to 6) ableton to me is a different animal, in my opinion the shit you can do with fruity loops leaves ableton in the dust.

I couldn't agree more. I like the Impulse Drum Machine, Simpler Sampler and effects that Live comes with, but in the end FL blows it away.

I dont know ableton, but i know you can do a lot with fl, plus fl is getting better and better in a very fast rate, they keep updating and innovating on their program, so in my opinion is not only a very good program it has a lot of feature prospects!

either way it doesnt matter to me I dont use either to make beats

I've messed around with both programs though

but to me the best tool is my MPC 2500 its dedicated hardware that doesnt need upgrades and I wont lose my beats when the cpu crashes

a month ago I woulda said my 2000xl
