Shit, FL4.5 has Rewire client and hosting. Do you know what that means ? This will hurt the fl haters hehe! But it has more new great features like a strummer, unique since I haven't seen this feature on any platform yet.

Yes, go check out the site www.fruityloops.com

I told people before that FL Studio is only going to get better and better, you just can't beat free lifetime upgrades, and you can't beat the freakin price for all the features you get. I can't wait to get my hands on this one.

Woo that's going to be something fierce right there, Reason inside of FL Studio!

What do you guys think of FL Studio XXL (with all the extras)?

What do I think ....

BeatSlicer (Fruity/Standalone) : 35
Fruity DrumSynth Live (Fruity) : 29
SimSynth Live (Fruity/VSti/Dxi) : 35
WASP (Fruity/VSti/Dxi) : 29
DreamStation DXi (DXi only) : 35
DX10 Synth (Fruity/VSti/Dxi) : 19
Fruity Sound Font Player (Fruity only) : 35
Sytrus FM Synth (Fruity/VSti/Dxi) : 79

To be honest, I have never used any of em because all those vsti's sound lame to me. Not really convinced me to use them besides the slicer, which is great fun, but could also be done through recycle, well almost since it's not a plug-in. I find the other plugs, the standard ones pretty oke to work with, so leave it with those plugs given with the program. It's enough for me anyway.

$267,-

Hey, it could be less...

So, I'd save those few bucks and buy me some weed and spend the 150 bucks on the FL Studio Producer Edition. If you pay and dl it online you get a lifetime free upgrading to all new versions and features to come, if you get it boxed you pay a 30bucks to get the free lifetime upgrade. Don't ask me why, it's probably administration fees lol!

yea, no doubt!
i had been a Fruity Loops junkie until version 3. but then i got my copy of reason and the rest is history...
Fruity 4.5 is a good, solid, program, and i would definitely recommend it. YET, i cannot ditch Reason, after everything we have been through...
i'm gonna stick to my Reason\Recycle\Reload\Sound Forge combo!

yeah I think the beatslicer is tight, the Dreamstation dxi I already have inside of Sonar , the other plugins I would like to try them out, but just having FL 4.5 is enough for me too, cause I have other plugins already in my arsenal that utilize.

Hehe, you know the folks at Propellerhead are watching this development closely, I'm sure they're going to come with some outstanding features in the next Reason release too, the first feature THEY HAVE TO ADD VST & DXI SUPPORT!!!

Wings! Dude! There's no need to ditch reason, you use it within FL as you would use a VSTi, that's the beauty of it.

I doubt that will happen since the purpose of reason seems to be to only use the machines given within the program and updates and it's not like the commonly known software platforms/environments where you can operate external midi devices aswell. Except for rewire enabling chnl processing through Rewire into adaptive platforms/environments. When it comes down to it, it's a all-in-one solution and a good one too. But if they're going to support more adaptive features it's going to be a whole different program and a different name too. Actualy, i think it would look like a stripped version of Cubase SX or Nuendo hehehehe!

Formant, word :)
but you see - i don't like FL as a sequencer. i prefer reason's sequencer. so basically, there's no point for me to use reason within FL. i do think it's a superb feature though. most people will find it very useful
good thread!

Yeah I got it last night and they sho did this sommin to this joint - I dowloaded my update at around midnight last and haven't slept - I am working on my sixth beat right now - the quality is amazing, and my joints rocking and finally my .sf2's are aounding better too - they actually sound "expensive" - I cant mess with the rewire client (not enough cpu power yet) the agony. I suggest y'all jump on this joint and get the xxl package which gives you all the plugins full version -
Krzy give 4.5 - a 10/10

True...but then again, if you're a devoted Reason user, who thinks rewiring to Cubase/Logic etc is making your beat process too complex, but still want to use the many good VST/DX effects that are available, as well as the many DXi/VSTi instruments with additional soundbanks, then it's a good idea...and in my opinion, I think many of the existing Reason users would enjoy those extra features and that Reason will only sell more. I for one would like to see those features in Reason.

I agree that in order to get the best out of reason you need Rewire, not that Reason on its own isn't a decent kit, but it's just to get the most of it. Or ofcourse vst support, but like explained above, I dont think it will be lucrative for steinberg to compete with itself. The downpart is that Reason wont ever serve as a platform with midi hardware, only as an instrument or if you choose to produce on Reason only. So it does fit in way, in hiphop this is really sufficient, but towards the electronic music it's a disabilities since 80% of these musicians work in both software and hardware ( vintage synths etc ), building upon a modular setup. There's more things that don't really matter since this is hiphop, but the filters for example are only half as effictive when opposed to FL. But many hiphop producers actualy use these filters in the same way you'd produce techno ? But again, I dont think it's relevant here.

And I ain't hatin', next one who says beef is dead!

lol!

I just downloaded and upgraded it's a very powerful combo now.....I won't be surprised one of these companies buys the other one out....Reason is an excellent concept and software and you can tell that gearheads had their input but them leaving out the built in vst support for better FX than what comes out of the box still leave me scratching my head...but I still use both of them......but now I think Fruity loops will be running all of my channels and rewire

I am laughing my ass silly to this, I just found this new feature

Dashboard
Create software interfaces for your external MIDI hardware, such as keyboards, mixers, samplers etc. Use the integrated automation system to record changes as your song progresses. Also set up interfaces that act as internal controllers.

Dashboard includes several preset panels for popular MIDI devices, ready to use in your projects. You can customize the existing panels or create new ones from scratch. This way you can adapt Dashboard for any MIDI device you own.

This looks like FL is heading towards the Logic style environment, I dont even think I need Logic on this combined with a good DSP/Multi I/O card.
This is gonna be fun!
