external souncards for laptops

hey fam,

I need an external soundcard for a pc so I can get a midi controler for reason. (USB)anysuggestions on which my be the right or can I get one peice of equipment that provides both

The PCMCIA Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS looks good; it says interface type is a card bus ..

eh Whats that then ? not usb I presume? one of the other little holes I dont know how to use?

a cardbus is like PCI slot for laptop, always better than FW or USB. Audigy is more a domestic application, hence its price, for better quality and more studio connectivity check out the emu or rme.
