Event Tr8 Monitors Issue

i just copped a pair of event tr8 monitors and for some reason after about 10 minutes of having them on they get real hot in the back where the power on/off button is at.

is this normal???
am i using the wrong 1/4 cable???

are they powered? if not what kind of amp are you using. If they are powered I would say that seems normal.

That's normal for the Events. My man got the TR 8's and I got the 20/20's (both powered)and they tend to get really warm. I thought it was a problem at first also until I looked into it and found out that's normal. It's just the heat from the amps inside. One thing though, use balanced plugs and don't leave them on for a long time if you're not using them because they can really overheat. They are designed so that the air being pushed out of the bass port is used to cool the amps, so if the music ain't pumping there is no airflow to cool them off.
