Hey everyone. Just wanted to say 'hello' before I start posting here regularly.
I've been working with music for over 12 years, mainly via the guitar. I have been expirementing with digital recording for the past three or four years.
While most of my time was spent playing rock and blues, I often listened to hip-hop in my spare time.
As far as tastes go, I'm a big fan of the Def Jux and Rhymesayers labels. I live and breathe Atmosphere, Mr. Lif, and Aesop Rock.
My gear / setup is still mostly geared towards pure audio recording, noting my history. I have a G4 Powerbook running Cubase and Reason, and use a Tascam USB audio interface.
I recently acquired a pair of Technics 1200mkII's and can't wait to start learning how to spin (I'm still waiting for my needles). After that - it's time to start getting a grip on sampling and basic beat making.
Can't wait to make progress and learn from you all.
