Dirty South Drums N Bass

hey ya'll anyone able to help me .. im tryin to get my drums and bass to sound dirty dirty but they just come out sounding too "thin" ive used fruity bass booster till im on the verge of distortion then used loads of compression but i cant seem to get it right ... is there any vst instrument/effect/free samples out there specifically for this?? or is there sumthin i am doing wrong?? help please ...

Actually comression shouldnt really increase the grimeyness or "dirtyness" of the Kick and Bass. you need to use an Eq and mild distortion effect to pull it out. Maybe even a little reverb.

Your original sounds themselves have to be good, its hard to take a stock kik and make it a DS drum.
I suggest getting some good kits.

oh thanks kontent .... will try reason 4.0 LOL!!! sorry am still a newbie ... so i shud send the kick to the my mixer channel, add f.p.eq .. then add f.reverb ... ?? in that order
