Crappy Yamaha Keyboard-Turned MIDI Controller?

ive seen people like turn they old casios into MIDI controllers and i was just wonderin how i could do it to mine cause im tryin to save some money...what i plan on doing is have a midi controller and then have sound modules to some of my favorite keyboards that i fuck wit at other peoples cribs (triton, fantom, motif, ect.) and have it hooked into my computer so it saves space....

As long as your keyboard has a midi in and midi out in the back of it then you're good to go.

yeah that's all you need. Midi in/out capabilities, cables, and then settin it up properly and you're set.

I use a casio as my controller.

also if you got just a basic computer then you either need somewhere to plug your midi cables into.
so you will need a midi in and out cable/s to game port adapter.
the game port in usually located on your sound card or if its onboard sound then you will be looking for a 15 pin female plug. if you dont have one then just go buy a cheap sb16 card for 15 bucks that has one.
or you can also use a "midi to usb" cable.
