whatsup fam! been a while

im watching the kid rock vh1 storytellers video and notice that he puts this wireless mic touching his lips with no pops, therefore no pops inTha P's.

What technology is he using? With my ksm27 I have to use a pop-blocker...

what's going on here?

What kind of mic is it? Dynamic, condenser?

It looked like a dynamic mic, I didn't realize that high-end dynamic mics were pop-free. Seems like I should have realized this a long time ago though... concerts, live performances ect..

I assume that condenser mics record better quality than dynamic mics, generally.. when I get time I should read up on this. thx

Thats what I thought lol. Ya most Dynamic mics are going to be like that for live performance where a pop filter would look straight retarded lol.

Well with most dynamic mics theres simply no need for a pop filter because of the reduced proximity effect that occurs.

Mics like a Shure SM7B, EV RE20, or Sennheiser MD421 all allow you to practically put the mic in your mouth without having any proximity effect hence reducing any plosives or sibilance that may occur.
