Cd-rw Help

The CD Writer on my PC isn't a cd-rw anymore. It sounds stupid yeah, but i tried to burn a cd today and nero didn't work.

I thought it was just the cd, so i tried a new cd and it still didn't work. When i looked in windows explorer i've now got a cd drive and a dvd drive. When i should have a dvd drive and a cd-rw drive. This hasn't happened before, and previously it was working fine.

I opened up the case and all the connections looked alright.

What should i do? Should i uninstall the driver then install one from a list that comes automatically from windows?

In case you've burned a CD that was copyrighted, then I suggest you try uninstalling and then reinstalling the drivers that came with it. Also, try uninstalling Nero and reinstalling Nero.

Uninstall, then re-install the drivers of the cd burner. If that dosn't work, try unistalling then re-installing Nero.

I un-installed nero, un-installed the cd-rw, then re-installed everything after a startup and it still didn't work.

I've sent it back to the company i bought it from, hopefully they'll fix it
