Yo I was thinking about gettin cakewalk, but I not shure. Can any of you guys tell me the ups/downs of the program. I am plannin on gettin Cakewalk 2004 XL. So spit some feedback aight. Peace.

I've been using Cakewalk for years. I first started off with Pro Audio 8, and I'm still using Pro Audio 9 because my system can't handle Sonar just yet. I did try Sonar a while ago and it looks SWEET. I like it much better than other programs I've tried, and the layout is simple. You have all your track controls/properties on the left side of each track so you can do some quick editing and adjustments without having to click a bunch of menus.
The only problem I have with Sonar is the audio editing. It's just a personal preference, but I like the audio editing setup in Pro Audio much better.
Overall, you should get it. But you should also go to the store first and try it out because you might end up not liking it for some reason and will go with something else.

I Dont Like Cakewalk For One Reason...it Doesnt Support Multiple Hardrives(one For Audio & One For The Programs) Your Computer Will Run Smoother This Way And Cakewalk Doesnt Support That.

Cakewalk and Sonar
I'm using Sonar also. I like it alot better than Cubase for one thing the latency is hard to setup in Cubase when Cakewalk and Sonar does it automatically, even though you can go back and tweak with it a little. I does support multiple drives. I'm using my main drive for the program and other drives for Audio so I don't get performance lag. My opinion Cakewalk all the way. Perfect for vocal recording too!!!
