do hot 4-8 bar loops stand a chance in the beat this comp, or is the winner usually a beat that has a lot of change ups and intricate stuff, i was wonderin cuz i wanna get in on that but im more on an old school tip of beat makin , i been wantin to get in on that 4 a while but every time i try to sign up its either too early or too late to sign up,imma try to step in the next time theres a no theme competition i dont really work with themes i jsut try to make decent beats ,anyway im goin off topic do 4-8 bar loops win competitions if they are hot?

yeah, even if it never changes up, if the beat is hot its hot. theres many beats that are very basic but are still hot. i think you should still enter

Let's say you take a sample and not even chop it - you just loop a 4-bar sample for the whole 2 minutes. Then you add your drums over that. That won't win. However, if you do something with that 4-bar sample (chop, rearrange, etc) and have some nice changeups and breaks in your entire beat (with some creativity) then you have a good chance. Of course overall it has to be dope!

If you listen to the 2 Metrosoul beats that won (I don't want to get into that) then you'll see a perfect example of a beat that should not win. Don't want to seem like an ass, but it's the truth - it's just a loop.
