bad audio performance on my computer. HELP.

i have an maudio audiophile 2496 soundcard, not sure if that is the issue or not. at any rate, the sound is increasingly clipped and distorted to the point of being unlistenable, in and out of my sequencer- although it was initially only outside of the DAW.

at any rate i am on windows service pack 2 (xp) so if anyone has had similar issues... lemme know. i updated drivers, checked the soundcard, etc.

Not sure what DAW you're using, but have you messed with the buffer size or the sample rate?
