i just got this record the other day, and i must say its a nice peice of work. ive always liked this suse, but damn...... he's got some of the dopest tracks of the past few years if you ask me.... and for those with short term memory, he dropped "ms fat booty" before this whole vocals-in-the-beat became the new trend and kanye blew up by doing it with every track he makes.... if you have ever heard "my life" with styles and pharoah and then heard the original sample, you would be amazed at what he did with it. the vocal snippets sing like he played them himself.
anyhow, just though t i'd give the man some pub in here. dude is just sick with his, in my opinion he is the most slept on these days.... i cant believe this guy isnt doing more high profile work. i would like to see him do most of the next blackstar/kweli/mos def/common albums, although iit looks like the kanye train is running through those for most of it, which kind of pisses me off. why cant this man get more love?
he still doin it with the boot camp crew, afu ra, guys like that.... but damn, let this guy produce an entire 12 track nas album, a mos def album, a pharoah album and you would have a 5 mic right there. guaranteed.
pharoah needs some love as well.... i have been listening to "agent orange" like crazy lately and damn.. this man is a damn genius.
so i was thinking... these two are like the bastard genuiuses of hip hop. they should do a whole album to gether, ala hi tek and kweli.... WOULD BE DOPE AS CAN BE....
