Anybody have links to tutorials for the M-Audio Axiom 25 or just information in general on it?

I got one. There were some things that nedded to be done to set it up with reason proper so I'll have a look see if I can't dig up that problem I encountered way back when just to save you some time.

Allright this is from another site but it's usefull info if you are having the problem where the drum pads seem all random when using redrum...

***

What you must learn are what 'CC, Channel, Data1, Data2, Data3' mean, not only in Enigma but on the controller itself. I'll tell you how to do it through the CONTROLLER (not Enigma software) because I have yet to fully understand transferring banks from the software to the Axiom...

If you look in the help file for reason's Redrum sampler, it says the 'note #' for the 10 channels on Redrum go from 36-45...

Stay with me, it's easier than you think.

You need to tell drum pad 1-8 that they need to control reasons note #'s 36-45, but you only have 8 pads on the Axiom so we'll do it 36-43...You access this feature by setting the "DATA 1" parameter on the Axiom...

How do you do that?

> Press the first pad (bottom left) on the axiom.

> Press "advanced" button

> Press the "Ctrl Assign" key (first piano key on Axiom 25, dunno 'bout others) then the number on the right should read "147" that is not the "DATA 1" parameter, that is CONTROL...

> Press the "Data 1" key (third black key from the left) and you probably will already see the number 36 on the screen now (that's the default). Still we will RE-Program it to the same thing for the sake of example.

> With the corresponding keys, punch in '36' then press the last white key which is 'enter' and you have that first pad now set for Note 36 wich will trigger channel 1 in redrum...

Now do the same steps with the second pad making IT'S Note number/Data 1 entry '37' and so on...

Pad 1 - DATA 1 = 36 for Redrum Channel 1
Pad 2 - DATA 1 = 37 for Redrum Channel 2
Pad 3 - DATA 1 = 38 for Redrum Channel 3
etc...

Appreciate you trying to help Low. I learned how to set up the pads as soon as i got the controller. That was no problem for me. I'm trying to find the hidden secretes. The manuals don't always tell you the inside jewels....u feel me? Anyway, for one I'm sure there's away to get the control knobs aka rotorary encoders to not move so many increments per click. Right now the one click moves the faders on Reason too much. Increments need to make smaller more precise changes on what ever device you have enabled.

I have most of the basics down. No way I was going to sleep Thursday when I cop'd it if I didn't get that down(lol). I've downloaded enigma and the upgraded remote files from Propellerheads for Axiom and Reason. There's is always hidden tricks and tips for controllers with this many useful functions.

P.S How are you likely yours so far. Without knowing all the ins and outs I still think its one of the top controllers out there. Holla back

I love mine it's a very usefull controler. Drum pads and weighted keys togeter in one controler is real dope in my opinion. The price was right too. I also love it's portability cuz no trip is complete without some gear to make beats with lol. I start feinding and shit if I'm away from beatmaking for too long. I had set up my initial load file in reason to be set for all the buttons and dials as well. I don't use the knobs for faders tho I use em on my aux inputs. I know some of the larger models have faders on em but that would have been tough to fit on the 25 cuz it's so small. Anyways, if you do find out some great special abilities or good features let me know. I'm happy with the way I use it currently so I haven't been searching for any more info on it for a while now. All I know is this combined with nnxt is real dope for spreading a sample across tha keys.

Peace.

Yea.....this shit is dope. My old M-audio 49e is box'd up and in the garage with my MPC. I was about to get the screen replaced on my MPC 2G but now that I have the Axiom with the pads it's a wrap. I need to get the screen replaced and sell the MPC. I definitely don't need it now! Have you used the pad toggle effect for samples yet? Using that function with the nnxt is going to make fliping samples even better. In case you haven't it's in section 3.5.1 Sample/Loop Triggers With MIDI Notes of the pdf manual. check it out if you haven't already.

I was using the keys to do that but I'm gonna try that with the pads and see how I like it. I'm sure the pads would have a quicker response. Thanks for pointing it out I'm gonna give this a try.

On top of that the velocity sensitive pads work good for making rising drum rolls and stuff.
