audiophile 2496 ?

A friend of mine gave me a audiophile 2496 card without the software. Can i still run this card? I know i can get the drivers off the m-audio website. I wanted to know if i need the sofware mixer that it comes with or can i use the windows mixer to change the setting of the card?

No, all you should need is the drivers.... Any additional software would probably just be trial's of stuff like Logic, Reason, etc... You can download that stuff here...
