What up--

I have been making a lot of tracks on reason and the program is on an apple. However after I export the track as an audio file I have been trying to burn it as a file to put on cd in order to upload it onto this site. When I do this though, the PC doesnt read any of the files. Is there anyway to convert the Mac files (AIFF) to standard WAV? Or is there some other way to put my tracks from the Mac onto a PC?

Thanks a lot,
Peace

You can convert aiff to wav and vice versa in SoundForge I think, just load the CD into SoundForge and convert...

YO GBOY, u can export audio out of reason as a wave file...just look a lil harder in you r export options......

If u have an existing file that u want to convert...iits fairly simple

step 1) download itunes from apple site if u do not already have it

step 2)under prefrences u can set the encoder to encode either mp3, wav, or aiff....if u want wave then set it to wave.

step 3)drag an aiff file into itunes

step4)under the advanced menu one of the options should say convert file to wave..click it and the same song in wave version will appear directly under the original

step 5) drag the new file out on the desktop...and there you go..brand new wave file

actually it didnt work. when I put it onto the PC it says Windows does not know what created this file. And it is in WAVE form, not WAV form so I dont even know why it isnt working. Any thoughts?

Hey,

1. In Windows, click on the file to select it.
2. Hit F2, this will allow you rename the file.
3. Rename it to filename.wav

Now it Windows should recognise it as a wav file.

You need to make sure that 'Hide extensions for known file types' is turned OFF in the Folder Options in order to see if your file was properly renamed.

Also, what program are you trying to open it with in Windows? Most modern audio apps will recognise aiff files...

Take care,

Nick
