I am not familiar with using an ADAT machine and was wondering if I could get some questions answered. If I use one can I get a warmer sound on my tracks? What is a good affordable one to buy? Do I need specific converters? Should I record to adat and then back to the computer to put on Cd?

Help me out

Peace

i used the alesis "blackfaced" ( the first model ) adat for a number of years. as a matter of fact i just started recording with a program ( logic audio 4.8) like last year. i mean, its def workable. the sound quality is crisp as long as the heads are in good condition. i think u can get a blackface model for like 200-300 bucks now, maybe less. i brought mines back in 98' for $1200. anyway, if u dont mind spending x tra $$ on s vhs tapes then , yeah put it to work. me personally , i got tired of conventional rewinding and fast fowarding, and basically just wanted to work more efficiently. so i step my game up.
