Dear Holmzini:
Absynth 2 is a dramatically powerful and intuitive sampler utilising a multitude of synthesis capabilities to mould sounds to your liking. The patches on the programme are especially powerful since it can dynamically alter the base sample through the applicatioin of FM, ring mod, wavetable, subtractive synthesis, and help you reach a desired output. It seems to be limited in its modularity, but, paradoxically, all its parameters are fully addressable through MIDI manipulation of control envelopes. What I do like is the ability to draw the wave form for the oscillator to utilise, which gives a great deal of power to the user. However, many people do not effectively utilise most of its parameters properly, let alone understand the concepts of them. The ability for the user to load and manipulate the sound is a very key issue in this area, and I think it's a great soft synth.
As for the Matrix 2 soundtrack being done all in Absynth, I highly doubt it. Some of it may have been done with Absynth. Where did you hear this?
The "warm" sound dilemma seems moot. There are many ways to get a "warm" sound, and the argument over what something sounds like is something I will not involve myself in. Perhaps you are misconstruing the applicability of what is a "warm" sound to the general area of synthesis by deducing the definitions brought forth for "warm" sound in other areas, like recording a voice, etc.
Sincerely,
God
