What’s up illfam, Heres the deal...the crew and I are basically getting sick of using other peoples equipment at our live sets. We have decided to start investing in some mobile equipment other then 2 tables and a basic mixer. What I need help on is a decent mixer for three or four cordless mics, a laptop, and the tables. Price is an issue unfortunately, as we are somewhat broke, we are still willing to spend a bit but just nothing crazy. Any suggestions for a good mobile mixer for live sets until we can upgrade would be appreciated. Also if you know of any, suggestions for some cordless mics would be dope too.
Peace and thanks in advance,
Josh

The instructor of my live sound engineering class i took last year swears by audix microphones as the best sounding dynamic microphones.

What you want in a wireless microphone is one with true diversity. Concept is difficult to explain but you have a stronger signal with a lot less chance of drop outs or interference so when you look at your microphones, see if you can afford to get the ones with true diversity. I'd recommend Audix OM5's but they seem expensive, especially ifyou are on a budget.

What type of connection is the laptop using to connect to the mixer?

take a look at this, this will cover all your bases plus leave a little room for you to expand if the situation came up.
