Good shit. Gonna miss the stadium though. First time I ever smelled weed was some dude at Yankee Stadium smoking it in the seats in front of me back in 1980....

Weed aside, I've been to some incredible games there, the best was the one when Jeter smashed his face up running into the stands to catch that foul ball, that's some dedication right there. That was an amazing game....

It's the best stadium period. Some real history there. I went to the game when Melky robbed Manny Ramirez of a homer last year. Also saw Jeter's first grandslam against the Cubs. Saw a bunch of good games there. Gonna miss it too...

that being said the new Stadium is gonna be off the hook. I'm definitely going to Opening Day!

babe ruth would agree!

The owner of the Red Sox gave Babe Ruth to the Yankees for peanuts so he could finance a musical. I'm thinking Babe Ruth was happy to play for the Yankees, hence his wearing a Yankees hat in the hall of fame...

Great Fenway moment:

Fenway's a beautiful park, I been there a few times.
But Yankees stadium has the history and the grimy factor. It's like seeing a great show at some run down bar, it's part of the vibes, the energy of the the crowd is what makes a place, not the seats....
So many of these new ballparks, the fans are more into eating sushi than watching the game, no matter what the new Stadium is like, better believe NYers will keep being the best fans on earth....
BTW, one of the games I went to at Fenway (during the Boston Marathon), everyone was talking to each other, no one was watching the game. People at Yankee Stadium are in the zone, they're fixated on every pitch, cheering / booing after every ball / strike, I've never seen that anywhere else...

How could there be more memories at Fenway? The Yanks have hung up 27 World Series banners. 39 American League Championships. 15 Division Championships. No ballpark can fuck w/ "The Stadium".

BTW....it's funny how you say Yankees fans cry alot...but this thread had absolutely nothing to do w/ Boston or the Redsox until you got involved. What's the matter? Are you crying again?

what the fuck is so special about yankee stadium

It's the place where winners have been winning over and over again, Ruth/Gehrig/Dimaggio/Mantle/Jackson/Jeter/etc...No excuses, no wait til next year, just great teams, great fans, wining championships. Fuck the concrete and the metal, the Yankees may not have the green monster, but they do have rings and rings and rings...

Whether they're playing on 161st and River or across the street at the new stadium, face the facts - the Yankees are the best baseball team in the history of the game. Period.

Anyways, when I was saying Boston fans don't watch the game, that was pre 2004, nowadays Boston is the #1 bandwagon team in sports. All these people with Boston hats, where were they four years ago? Nowhere to be found...
That means the #of lame and fake Boston fans is higher than ever. You shouldn't go spreading misinformation, we don't need any more ignorant Boston fans than are already out there. 1 ring in 88 years is simply not comparable to what the Yankees have done in that Stadium for the last 88 years, snap out of it...

Anyways, back to the topic, 2008, All-Star Game in NYC baby, it's time to take a step back and salute greatness....

Dahkter's right about the size of the Boston bandwagon since '04, but that was inevitable. Same thing happened w/ the Yankees in '96. Difference is the Yankees kept winning.

As far as Fenway goes. It is an unbelievable ballpark w/ tons of history. I'm not disputing that whatsoever. It is just obvious that Yankee stadium is the most storied ballpark ever. How can you argue w/ the numbers. And I'm not a numbers guy but for the Yankees to have that many Playoff and World Series appearances, how can Fenway compare. It wasn't until recently that the playoff format changed and allowed for Division Champs and even more recently Wild Card teams. So that means while the Yankees spent most of the 20th Century in the playoffs, the Redsox spent most of the 20th century watching history unfold at YANKEE STADIUM.

To this day probably the most famous moment in Fenway history was Bucky Dent's homer to send the Redsox home for good in '78.

fuck all that, theres no place in the world more intimate for a baseball game than fenway, the careers that started/ended here. theres been more losing than winning but it doesnt even matter. yankee stadium is a stadium. fenway is a park. thats how baseball started kid. fenways so old theres no way the average size person could sit and watch the game comfortably, cuz people were smaller back when it was built. but i wouldnt want it any other way. salud

all star game.its useless game that doesnt mean shit

You gotta get your facts straight. Not just about the Yanks being on a higher level, but about the game in general. Since 2003, whichever league wins the All Star Game gets the home field advantage in the World Series. Example - AL wins the All Star Game, Yanks (AL) vs. Mets (NL) in the World Series, Yankees get home field advantage, four games in the Bronx, three games in Queens.

So, if you think the Red Sox got a chance of ever making it back to the World Series, than yeah, it matters and you should want the AL to win if you want your team to have home field advantage....

Finally, regarding all of this Boston NY shit (not at all the point of this thread), don't you realize the opposite of love is indifference (not hate)? It's like some dude who's always talking about how much he hates gay people, nine out of ten times he's a card carrying ass pirate. You trying to move to NY and fulfill the destiny - L. Brasi - Yankees fan?
