2 pac "thug angel" documentry

whos seen this documentry? it was on my tv the other night

a couple of my thoughts....

pac was raised by his mother who was one of the leaders of the black panthers. many of her values were passed down to him. it was clear that pac felt strongly about getting equal rights for black poeple.

"thug life" did not mean that pac wanted to rob or shoot poeple. pac said "thug life" represented the fact that he came from the gutters and had to do whatever was necessary to get by in life. it turned ou tthat he shot some police officers who were harrasing a black man. he was reallly against the police force because he saw them as a gang who picked on his people. when asked if he felt any remorse for the shooting, he laughed and said that he will feel remorse when they feel remorse for the poeple they have killed. fair point in my books. but i still dont think pacs solutions were the best ones. i think it was goo dof him to teach poeple to stand up for their rights but i dont think violence is a peacemaker. its a tough one....but gats only ever got people killed na mean?

i think alot of poeple would have misunderstood pacs wording. "thug" life would have stimulated a shit load of little kids to go out and try to be as hardcore as they can. which imo is wack.

it seems to me ythat pac did alot of good things and a lot of bad things. i truly believe he loved people and wanted the best for them buit i dont know if he always made the mpst educated decisions.

i just wonder if he did more bad than good. probably not.

meh...

ps. i cant stand listening to pac anyway cos the production is SO wack lol

guevera......thats very interesting about how he used the thug image to get an audiance so he could eventually educate people. i wonder why this wasnt in the documentry. in fact, i once read an interview where xzibit did the exact same thing. he said that most of the time he just wrote what the youth would want to hear but that his new albums would be more based on how he really felt about things. IMO, even KRS did a little bit of this by calling his first album "criminal minded." for me, this is a really controversial topic. i myself wouldnt talk shit INITIALLY to get an audiance (with positive future intentions) but i dont really hate on those that do. i guess they are just ultra desperate to reach out and touch humanity. then again, its a thin line between being desperate to reach people and wanting some dough.........much respect right back atcha guevera.

goldy_c.......i expected you to maybe have a little more imput on this one. did you make up that acronym? or was that something pac coined?

No this was an acronym that Pac had created in fact alot of the things that he said were hidden messages and acronyms, like N.I.G.G.A.S, or when he would say "killuminati" what he was actually saying was "kill illuminati". After the time went to jail for rappin that chick he said that the old thug life was stupid and dead thats when he coined that acronym. Alot of people also dont know that Pac wasnt always if ever what we consider a thug. At the time Pac was usin that term to describe someone who was like a rebel, opposing the system. In fact Pac started of a poet and kind of a nerd, he went to school for ballet and acting, and didnt get into that whole "thug" stage until he signed over to death row. I remember in an interview with one of Pac's close friends he said Pac cried and told him he knew he sold his soul to the devil when he allowed Suge to help him get out of prison, after he got out he began lifting weights gettin a whole bunch of tatoos and slowly began to build the character Tupac, Big Syke (member of the outlawz) said that towards the end of his death Tupac became like a chameleon blendin in with his enviroment he said that when he was with the bloods he wore blue and that when he was with the crypts he wore red (prolly to let everyone know he wasnt affiliated). As for if he did more good than bad, I dont know he created songs like "hold ya head'" and "dear mama" which Im sure helped alot of people, but I remember when "Hail Mary" first came out niggas was gettin all psyched up and killin eachother left to mufuckin right. Then when Pac died alot of people blamed the Crips (one reason I think BIG died) and there was ALOT of casualties in LA.

Pac was actually a really positive figure...Its jus hard for people to see that when they judge by a first glance or dont take tha time to understand whats being said beyond tha sound of a curse word.
People often want to point fingers and it always seemed to me like they wanted to point at pac. I once saw this old ass tape about pac and it had stuff about him being hella into reading books an shit an trying to understand literature that had nothing to do with his street life - people cant see that higher learning in him cuz all they see iz tha pre-concieved notion of a 'thug'...which i agree he did cash in on to get tha public to acknowledge him but that is what tha public wanted to see and hear so i think he jus gave it to them.??....

Its just a shame you gotta be dead to be a legend in this game. I feel yall on all that it pisses me off when people are too quick to judge what we say, what really irks me is that you see alot of people tryin to calculate who the next Pac is gonna be like 50, then you got niggas actually switchin up they style right down to the look to be more like Pac Master P, Tha Realest, Ja. When will people learn that there wont be another Pac whats wrong with tryin to be a class A you instead of a class B someone else.

theres a new pac/biggie song out i think it was produced by eminem...it sounds like it...anyway the production is tight, and i expect most of the "new" pac songs that come out with resurrection to have tight beats

Are u refering to Johnny J ? For your info he's hispanic and far from whack ... He produced "POUR OUT A LITTLE LIQUOR", "ALL EYEZ ON ME", and "HOW DO YOU WANT IT" among others ... very soulful production. I'm still wondering how he flipped that O'Jays sample on "POUR OUT A LITTLE LIQUOR"

Yall know what, I was watchin that row killa shit today and was jus thinkin about how sad the collapse of Deathrow was. If Suge wasnt on top they prolly still would have the hottest roster right now shit Dre,Snoop,Pac,Daz & Kurupt, Danny Boy. On another note alot of people think that Suge killed Pac (me too) but I have more suspision for that dude named Jaques (Hatian Jack) that dude had some serious motive too.

fill me in on the motives of the various suspects if you will

Suge Knight-Everybody knows that Suge owed Pac money Suge made a whole bunch of purchases in Pac's name includin a luxury car for his brother, luxury apartments for other artist at Deathrow, expensive clothing, and a house, this combined with the royalties that Suge owed Pac summed up to somwhere around 10 million dollars. Tupac had talked about leaving Dethrow to start Makaveli records and it is for this reason that many people suspect Suge of havin somethin to do with Pac's murder. Its also said that Pac didnt want to go to Vegas for some reason but Suge and some other cats urged him to go, also the fact that Suge claimed to have been shot in the head and the bullet was still stuck in his head when in fact he was just grazed makes him suspect. I have many many family and friends that are crips and I remeber one tellin me that when it comes to killin slobs (bloods) "two is always better than one" this is why I feel that the Crips could not have had anything to do with it, why pass up a car full of legitimate bloods just to shoot one (who isnt even really a blood) and not kill one of the biggest mob Piru figures in the country, my reasoning is I would kill all the niggas in the car behind and then kill anyone around the target (that means Suge).

Jaques-Before Pac caught that case for raping that girl he started hangin around this dude Ill just call Hatian Jack because his name is hard to spell. When Pac caught that rape charge all of them that were in the hotel room (includin Jack) were on trial, for some reason Jack got off and everyone else took a charge. Of course Pac was pissed off (I would be too) and he started making comments about Hatian Jack which began bringin attention to him (somethin a pusher deffinitely doesnt want) so Jack set Pac up and had him shot when he was supposed to meet biggie, now this is the confusin part (maybe because Pac was confuse) if he knew that Hatian Jack had him shot (he says so in that song off of Hail Mary its the track right after hold ya head) then why was he attackin bad boy becasue he thought they shot him. In any case this scenario that got set up betweeen Jack and Pac seems alot closer to some of the things I see happen down here, I dont know if I got all of the motives Jack had but those are the one that stood out to me.

Bad Bay-Ill let TupacFans.com explain this one:pac hated Puffy mainly because he was with Biggie, was competition to Death Row. Death Row were planning to form Death Row East and have the whole Rap Game under their influence but Puffy was direct opposition to this. At an industry awards ceremony Suge Knight summed up the Puffy situation perfectly when he said "If anyone wants to come to a record company were they don't want the executive producer dancing, singing all up in the videos come to Death Row." Puffy used his other artists to promote himself. Puffy didn't write his own lyrics, his flow was weak and his beats were ripped.

Pac also says that Puffy was involved in the NY shooting at settin' him up because Puffy's company was meant to be financed by the people who shoot him and Pac was carrying a gun at the time so if he pulled it out he would get shot so they made it look like a jewelry robbery.

Lil' Kim once said that Bad Boy did a track dissing Tupac but they didn't released it after Tupac "died". The song did not feature Biggie; it was only Lil' Kim and Junior M.A.F.I.A.

Orlando Anderson-A crip, when Pac and them were at that fight in Vegas someone came and told Pac that Anderson had stolen a Deathrow chain and was wearing it (which pretty much ment death) so pac ran on him with the help of Suge and some of their buddies they beat the shit outa him stomped him, kicked him, (etc) so the idea was that the shootin may have been a retaliation for Anderson gettin jumped. He's dead now by the way, big suprise right, after Pac died there were a whole lotta crips dyin off left and right.
