    Reason backdrops?

It's just nice to customize your workspace, especially when you have the photoshop skills to make nice designs and make a backdrop specific to the beat your making. I sample a lot of horror, and I enjoy chopping up the movie covers and making slick backdrops with designs specific to the...

    THE 9TH DEGREE: 9th Wonder's class

I didn't mean to kill the thread, honestly. My bad. I know what may fix it. Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows, Everything that's wonderful is what I feel when we're together, Brighter than a lucky penny, When you're near the rain cloud disappears, dear, And I feel so fine just to know...

    THE 9TH DEGREE: 9th Wonder's class

You know, I had a history teacher in high school. He only taught the history that showed off America's history as noble, righteous, and struggling. He never really acknowledged, analyzed, or critiqued the BAD with the GOOD. He only taught the good. When someone teaches something, and does so...

    M-Audio Trigger Finger

If sensitivity/velocity is a big deal to you while laying down your drums, I wouldn't suggest the MPD16. Also, if you're using WinXP and don't have MIDI capabilities, I would again suggest avoiding the MPD16, as the USB connection is notorious for crashing WinXP at random. Just my two cents. The...

Fade's quest to get an Akai MPD24

I might have spoken to soon, it looks like they updated the USB Drivers last year (5 years after release is pretty bad though), and they claim it fixes it. If you google 'MPD16 Restarting' or something of that nature you'll find archives of countless people experiencing the problem. It was...

Fade's quest to get an Akai MPD24

Speaking of AKAI acting gay, this thread seems a fitting place to remind folks that if you're making music on WinXP the MPD16 is not necessarily your friend. If you use a MIDI cable with it, you're fine. If, on the other hand, you use the USB cable it will constantly restart your computer for no...

    samples/timing in recycle/nnxt

Yeah, I'm just gonna echo what they're saying. Make sure that the loop is flawlessly looping on time in your audio editor before you start slicing it in Recycle.

    Buying samples cd's on ebay

Host makes a good point, although I assumed you were referring specifically towards DRUM sample CDs/Kits. If you're wanting to buy Sample CDs that have instrument loops, etc etc you'll find that it's a lot more fun for most producers to search out their own melodic samples. Unless, like he said...

    FL vs. Reason

I use Reason. With that being said, anyone with half a brain knows that it's all in how much time and effort you put into learning how to use whatever software/hardware you're creating with. It takes all kinds, and it's all in the man behind the production. I've seen plenty of people trash on...

    DJ Babu on reason

No matter what settings you're after, so long as you setup your rack the way you want and then save that as a .rns you can edit your preferences to always open up to that customized rack by default. Or are you referring to something else?

    Vibbing

One of my keyboards is a YamahaDGX-205 and it has USB/Midi built in. I'd imagine a 305 would as well. If you're not yet using your Yamaha WITH Reason then you should be. I don't see why it wouldn't work as a midi-controller right out of the box.

    RS7000 youtube quik tutorial

It doesn't matter what sampler you use, so long as you get all your samples from real, credible hip-hop sources, of which there are TWO. Laserdisc and VHS. .......No I am serious, burn your vinyl and go buy some laserdiscs bitches!

    RS7000 youtube quik tutorial

Thanks man, sample manipulation is probably the biggest draw to doing hip-hop for me, I'd like to see more videos dealing with creating new melodies out of obscure samples on the net. Keep up the good work, hope you can get your hands on a better camera sometime in the near future. Also, I'm not...

    MPD users look here!

Yes, hit the 16 level button, hit the pad corresponding to the drum you want to have the levels apply to, and then your 16 pads are 16 different levels for said drum. Couldn't be any easier, always works whether you prefer Redrum or the NN-XT.
