its just what i've heard. i don't doubt he uses battery but i also don't get why just blaze hanging up the mpc (even if he were to) should have the slightest effect on what any other producer does. also to be honest what just uses truly doesn't matter b/c he will outwork 99% of other producers... -

serato no question imo...its become the standard in every club here in new york, and i assume a lot of other places also..lots of them are just building serato into their dj booths now so you don't even need to bring anything but your laptop. -

Drumagog plug-in Got to C it to believe it
ldb good post man i had never really thought of using it for anything but drum samples..its kinda limited for hip hop drums imo i mean almost all of us use midi so swapping sounds is easy, but if you;re producing a record with acoustic drums or replacing samples its a nice plugin for sure. -

honestly my mixing advice...get a book like the art of mixing by david gibson, or find a website that has a good rundown on the basics of all your basic plugins, eq, verb, compressor, etc, and just be done at that. there is more than enough to learn about just making beats, and... -

i got the cme uf8 with the weighted keys and its a real nice board, the keys are almost as good as the hammer action on motif/oasys level boards. i would definitely suggest having a non weighted board around though, its very tough to play some melodies with the real piano keys, i personally... -

Copyright Program/Blocker?
are you trying to stop people from jacking from beat cds? cause that won't work. these dudes have gone way beyond burning now, they'll just remake it by ear or stream the audio from itunes or whatever. if not though, alcohol 120 always worked good for anything i threw at it when i had a pc. -

this guy is crazy good at playing by ear...search his redo of buy you a drank on youtube, what makes his stuff different is he plays all the vocal melodies/harmonies on top of a song's chords, its crazy. -

i dont sample much but i'd just try using a high pass filter on your mpc or whatever else you use...i would imagine getting rid of the snare would be harder though, because you can't just cut out the low end for that. maybe use a highpass to get rid of the kicks, and use a notch filter to... -

remaking beats is crucial...it really teaches you how to compose something on a professional level. other than that as ash said, just keep grinding, time in the studio will always pay off also real talk...never listen to the people who tell you its easy. my guess is they aren't timbaland or... -

Question about my compressor and waveforms...
you could also just try turning the compressor on but leaving it basically as a limiter or a very slight comp...like set the ratio as 1:1, threshold 0db, soft knee, etc. might still warm up the sound a little without much noticeable compression.
