    rigormortis why do you wonder what he would sound liek if he wasnt sample based. Thats not how he does beats....He uses samples..im sur eyou process all your synth sounds and drum sounds from scratch...im sure you up in the studios micin up drum kits ..and tweaking your own instruments.....

    mpc2000xl users - what other hardware equipment do u cats combine ur mpcs with?

    with my mpc I use an external sampler (weak esi-2000) and I record into protools. I dont have a record player but if i sample i will sample off of cds. I have audio out from my computer going into the MPC. im looking into gettng a better sampler though..something i the aka series...

    Building Your Own Samples

    I think making your own kits would be the best way to go if you have the time. Most of us probably dont have the time or expertise to make "bangin kits on out own"..ive done a few...very time consuming though. If you can do it though i say go for it..makes your sound more "your sound"

    I always wondered about reason effects verses protools.....i use rewire but often try to use only reson fx...ill try it out..i have limited cpu power though...that would be a nice tip to find..how to get the most out of my cpu while adding protools fx
